MILLER, CHARLES H. "CHARLIE," 77, of Portland, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Norton Hospital Downtown surrounded by his family.

He was a devout Catholic. He retired from Klein Brothers Safe and Lock Co. after 47 years, where he was a master safe locksmith. He was an Army veteran, and proud graduate of the Flaget Class of '53 and the Flaget Alumni Assoc. He was past president of Church of Our Lady Mens Club, Minister of the Eucharist, and past active member of the St. Columba, and St. Anthony parishes. Charlie was an avid UK basketball fan. He loved to fish, watch NASCAR, and especially loved being with his family.

He is predeceased by a son-in-law, Randy Miller, and a grandson Jonathan Havens.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sandra Ann (Hall) Miller. His beloved daughters, Laura A., Linda M. (Matt), Janet L., Joan L. and Cheryl R., (Keith); his sisters, Betty Stout, Sue Miller and Charlyn Allen; a brother, Bobby Heyn; six grandchildren, Melissa, Randy Lee, Amy, Charles Mitchell, Jarred and Jordan; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 3511 Rudd Ave., with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Wednesday, at J.B. Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 2114 W. Market St.
