KIRK, CLAUDE CALLOWAY, 93, of Hillview, formerly of Waynesboro, VA, returned to his Heavenly Father Tuesday, April 22, 2014.

Mr. Kirk was born December 18, 1920 in Montcoal, WV to the late Thomas Samuel and Dixie Hale Kirk. He was a United States Navy veteran who served during World War II and enjoyed being a private pilot who traveled often for work.

Among those who preceded him in death include, his wife, Mary Morgan Kirk; daughter, Barbara Medley; parents; and adopted sister, Pauline Kirk.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Thomas Kirk and wife Della; granddaughters, Tammy Rutledge and Donna Dixon; great grandchildren, Jessica, Amber and Tiffany; former wife, Louise Kirk and stepson, Daniel Cline.

Mr. Kirk donated his body to the U of L Bequeathal Program and a memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road). Friends may pay their respects on Saturday from noon until the time of service at Schoppenhorst.
