NEW ALBANY - Moser, Donald J. Sr., 79, of Winter Haven, FL, was surrounded by his family when he went to be with God on September 8, 2013 as a result of congestive heart failure. He was born May 31, 1934 in New Albany, IN, graduated New Albany H.S. in 1952, and earned his Chemical Engineering Degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1956. Don was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Winter Haven, FL, and St. Mary's Church in New Albany, IN. He was also a long time member of the Knights of Columbus. Before retiring to Florida, he was Vice President at The George Moser Leather Company in New Albany, IN.
Awaiting his arrival are Karl and Margaret Moser (parents); Joyce Motley (wife); Jo Hampton (wife); and David (son).
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Moser and his eight children, Donald Moser Jr. (Kim), Margaret Vance, Lisa Moser (Kimmie), Karl Moser Sr. (Teresa), Julie Fifer (Jef), Jamie Gilbert, Brad Moser (Natalie) and Ariana D'Amura (Mike); 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Don's passions included his Alma Mater, University of Notre Dame, his friends and family, golfing, hunting, fishing and daily prayers for all those in need. He was a true follower of Christ in all aspects of life. Always ready with a smile, Don never met anyone he didn't like as he loved all God's children and lived his life at the foot of the cross.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church of New Albany, IN on September 28, 2013 at 11 a.m. There will be a "Celebration of Life" immediately following the mass at the River City Winery in New Albany. The memorial service at Four Lakes will be held at a later date.
