King, Donald Nelson, Sr.,

passed away Friday, July 25, 2014 at his residence.

He was preceded in death by his grandson Adam David King and his beloved dog "Duke".

He was born December 23, 1930 in Louisville, KY, the son of the late Clarence Nelson and Marian Adams King.

Mr. King was a graduate of duPont Manual High School, Class of 1948 1/2, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Scottish Rite, Kosair Shrine, a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Harrison Masonic Lodge # 122 F & A M, worked at Brown- Forman Distilling Company for 19 years and was an avid UK sports fan.

He is survived by his wife: Margaret "Margie" A. King; four children: Donald N. (Terry) King, Jr., David (Janette) King, Jean M. (Jim) Woody and Robert O. (Martha) King, all of Louisville. three step children: Danny Joe (Marvetta) Tate of Brandenburg, Patricia A. Tate of Louisville, and Sandra K. "Sammy" (Jack) Cantrell of Harned, KY. six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 25, 2014 at the Garnettsville Cemetery, near Muldraugh, KY.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. Monday at the Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home in Brandenburg.
