SEARCY, EARL RAY, 88, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2013 He was a native of Anderson County, Kentucky, son of late Phillip White Searcy and Lora Goodlett Searcy. Earl was a graduate of Kavanaugh High School in Lawrenceburg KY, and Transylvania College in Lexington, KY, and the University of Louisville Law School. He was a member of the American Bar Association.

Earl was a Korean War veteran, a Bible teacher at the Masonic Home, a deacon of Beargrass Christian Church, and was involved in the start up of Saint Matthews area Ministries.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and five brothers, Vincent, J.C, Marshall, Gilbert and Harold.

He is survived by his sister, Betty Gillis (Bob); and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of Earl's life will be noon, Friday, September 6, 2013 at Beargrass Christian Church, 4100 Shelbyville Road with burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 10-11:30 a.m. Friday at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road "in St. Matthews".

Memorial contributions in Earl's memory may be made to Beargrass Christian Church.
