EVANSVILLE - McAdams, Dr. Emil "Mac," passed away July 19, 2013 at the Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville, IN.

He was born September 26, 1928 in St. Paul, Kansas, the son of the late Darryl and Lottie (Trent) McAdams.

He was a Vanderbilt University graduate earning his master in divinity, and an honorary doctorate from Kentucky Wesleyan. Dr. McAdams served as a United Methodist Minister for 47 years, serving eight churches: Adairville, Elkton, Buechel (Louisville) Henderson, St.Mathews (Lou.), Settle Memorial in Owensboro, St. Paul (Lou.), and Hopkinsville. During his ministry, Mac served on a number of Boards and Agencies of the UMC: Trustee of Lindsay Wilson College, Henderson Meth. Hosp. Board, Chairman of Lou. Conf. Board of Pensions, Lou. Methodist Hospital Board, Wesley Manor Retirement Board, three times elected to the General Conf. of UMC, five times to the Southern Jurisdiction Conf. He enjoyed golfing, reading, and traveling.

Dr. McAdams was preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter, Cynthia Reed in 2007.

Mac's survivors are his wife, Alice L. (Collins) McAdams, (married 8-27-1950); his daughter, Donna (Keith) Grabert of Mt. Vernon, IN; his two sons, David Earle McAdams of San Francisco, CA, and K. Dale McAdams of Venice Beach, CA; his son-in-law, Len Reed of Atlanta, GA; his eight grandchildren, Jennifer Loehr, Kelsey Spurlock, Kellie Grabert, Jamie Grabert, Adam Grabert, Kalab Grabert, Nathan Reed, and Julie Torres; his four great-grandchildren; his sister, Madalyn (Wayne) Monroe of Milledgeville, GA; and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Louisville, KY with Dr. Tom Grieb officiating and entombment in the church columbarium.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul UMC, Louisville, KY or Charlier Hospice Center, 610 E. Walnut Evansville, IN 47708.
