DEWITT, FLOYD ORVILLE SR., formerly of Okolona, departed from this life March 6, 2014 in Middletown Pennsylvania at age 96. He was born in Laud, IN, raised in Northern Indiana, and graduated from Huntington College. He served in World War II, rising to the rank of army captain and received a bronze star for meritorious service. Floyd continued in the active reserve until his retirement as Major in 1970. He married Lucy Oma Grottenthaler in 1943. He worked in the US Postal Service for 33 years.
Preceding him in death is his loving wife, Lucy Oma Grottenthaler.
He is survived by three sons, Floyd Jr, John Stephen, and Lawrence Alan; brother, Paul; sister, Alice Elaine McCray; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethany United Church of Christ, 10400 Old Preston Hwy. Visitation at the church from 10 a.m. until service time.
