FLANIKEN, DR. FORREST W. JR., 57, went to be with the Lord on October 14, 2012.
The Guest Book is expired.
Dr. Flaniken was a committed man of God, a loving husband, a devoted father, a loyal brother, a caring son and a faithful friend. Forrest was a Senior Vice President of Wycliffe Bible Translators, based in Orlando, FL.
He passionately followed Jesus Christ and wanted all people from around the world to have access to the Bible in their heart language so that they might know Christ and worship him. Forrest was an avid and disciplined athlete and an accomplished piano player. Forrest grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, and graduated from Seneca High School. He had degrees from Davidson College, Vanderbilt University and the University of Central Florida.
He leaves to rejoin him in the presence of God at a later date, his beautiful wife Kristen; his sons Forrest III (Kristen), Nelson, and Spencer; his siblings Eleanor Borus (Robert), Jeffrey (Angela), and James (Laure); his parents, Forrest Sr. and Joanne; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at Aloma Church in Winter Park, FL.
