BRYAN, FRED N., 82, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013.

He was a retired electrical technician for G.E. Services Shops. He was a Navy corpsman assigned to the 1st Marine Division during the Korean War, a proud survivor of the Chosin Reservoir in Korea, a member of the Chosin Few organization, 1st Marine Association, V.F.W. post 2921 where he served as a past Commander, American Legion Post 229, Marine Corps League, The National Rifle Association, The Louisville Rifle and Revolver Club for 58 years and the club treasurer, and a member of The Black Hawk Gun Club of Asheville, NC. In his youth, he won the first track race in Flaget history.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Sims Bryan; and sisters, Betty Bryan Thomas and Charlotte Bryan Garrett.

He is survived by his loving wife Betty C. Bryan; stepsons, Michael Ostrander, Paul Smith, David Smith and Scott Smith; many nieces and nephews and several stepgrandchildren.

His funeral will be held 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Joseph E. Ratterman & Son, 7336 Southside Dr. with burial in KY Veterans Cemetery Central. Visitation: 2-8 p.m. Tuesday.
