PARKER, GEORGE PHILLIP SR., 68, passed away on January 8, 2014.

George Phillip Parker was born on January 20, 1945 in Clarksville, TN, to Ben and Sarah (Conroy) Parker. He attended Trinity High School and earned a scholarship to play football at Vanderbilt University, following his father's footsteps. Graduating in 1968 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering, George received a law degree from the University of Louisville in 1973.

George had a distinguished career as a construction litigator and mediator and was managing partner at Parker & O'Connell.

He is survived by his three loving children, Megan Lykes (Thompson), George Parker Jr., (Kiley), and Laura Parker (Alex); grandchildren, Mason, Palmer, Faith and Charlie; brother John Parker (Caroline); sister, Sarah Carter (Joe).

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ben Parker; and sister, Agnes Parker.

The family will be holding a Celebration of Life to honor their father at Churchill Downs in the spring, contact his daughter, Laura at for further details.

In lieu of flowers, suggested remembrances should be made to Trinity High School in his name.
