Bierly, Dr. George Remy M.D.,

95, died peacefully in his home among family on Friday, August 15, 2014.

He was born July 27, 1919 in Jay Co., IN. Dr. Bierly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a physician. He graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1945 and practiced in Louisville as a general surgeon, specializing in urology, for more than 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerita Polio Bierly, and is survived by their three children Gregory R. Bierly, Renee Edwards (Doug Edwards, D.M.D.) and Cecily Bierly. He is survived by his five grandchildren Bill Perkins, Angelena Edwards M.D., Remy Dulworth, K. Blake Edwards, Zaynah Karem and great-grandchild, Jamie Perkins. Dr. Bierly is also survived by his sister Joan L. Terveer.

Visitation is on Monday at Ratterman's Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, "in St. Matthews" from 3 - 8 p.m. Honorary Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Peter in Elizabeth, IN, with burial services to follow.
