GUELDA, JOHN G. SR., 80, of Jeffersontown, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Jewish Hospital in Shelbyville.

Born in Louisville, he was the President and Owner of Cardinal Sanitation Co., Inc. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran during the Korean War.
A member of St. Edward Catholic Church, a lover of the outdoors and Canadian hunting, a fishing adventurer and an intriguing story teller, some actually true.
Preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years the former Nancy Lee Zimlich; and a son, Jeffrey A. Guelda.
He is survived by his children, Richard (Suzanne); caregivers; and Sarah P. Hill, caregiver; He is also survived by his daughter, Ruth Anne Ansback (Gus); and his sons, Andy, David and John Jr. Guelda; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday from 3-8 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home-Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Rd. Burial will be private.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Joseph Children's Home or St. Edward Catholic Church. The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to the entire staff at Masonic Home of Shelbyville and the staff at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville for the compassionate and professional care provided.
