WHITEHOUSE, JOSEPH S. SR., 94, of Louisville, passed away at Baptist East Hospital on October 28, 2013, after a short illness.
The Guest Book is expired.
Joe was a retired business owner and a World War II Army veteran. During his Army service he was in the 138th Field Artillery Battalion and served in Italy, North Africa and France and was awarded five bronze stars.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife of many years, Evelyn, who passed away in 2000.
Joe is survived by a daughter, Patricia Hatton; a son, Joseph Jr., (Cookie); one grandchild; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
During Joe's later years he continued living alone and had neighbors who watched over him and cared for him as if he were their own father. Were it not for the kindness and attention from neighbors he would not have been able to remain in his own home until the end.
Per Joe's wishes, there is no visitation and he will be cremated. Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village has the honor of serving the family.
