CORYDON - Downey, K. Alan, 52, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013 in Ramsey, IN.
He was born in Louisville on February 8, 1961. He was an employee of Ramsey Water Co., was a Boy Scout Leader, was an avid worker with Special Olympics and was a member of First Capitol Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Downey, maternal grandparents, Harold and Polly Boggs and paternal grandparents Kenneth Downey Sr. and Birtha Jones.
He is survived by his wife, Dee Katz-Downey of Corydon; two sons, John Katz of Clarksville, IN and Jonathan Katz-Downey of Corydon; his father, Kenneth Downey Jr. (Fe) of Port Charlotte, FL; his mother, Shirley Coakley of Corydon; his sister, Cathy Martin of Clarksville; two nephews, David Lee Martin of Clarksville and Thomas Downey Jr. (Deandre) of Indianapolis, IN; and three great-nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at First Capitol Christian Church in Corydon. Pastor Randy Kirk will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 4 -8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Friday. Arrangements: Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorial gifts be made to Harrison County Special Olympics.
