RUDOLPH, KEVIN M., 39, passed away Sunday October 28, 2012, at Norton Hospital after a long battle with Muscular Dystrophy.
Kevin graduated from Manual High School and U of L with a degree in business management. He was a true Cardinal fan. Kevin's accomplishments include: Local and State ambassador for Muscular Dystrophy from 1984 through 1987. He was awarded the State Recipient of 2007 Robert Ross MDA Personal Achievement Award. Kevin was a KY Colonel in 1994. He was an Olympic Torch Bearer in Louisville for the 2002 Olympics.
We wish to thank all the physicians and nurses who provided care for our son. The staff at Kentucky Pulmonary, Drs. Shaikun and Karman et.al the Heart Clinic and their staff, especially Dr. Wayne Gibson for his exceptional care and the staff and great nurses that cared for Kevin in home from ResCare Home Health Services, and the Drs. at MDA Clinic.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Sheila Tipton; parents, Karlton and Rita Rudolph; his sister, Kimberly Rudolph; and mother-in-law, Opal Hawkins. Kevin also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends who his life touched. Not to be forgotten, Tammi Hartman and Jimmy Mann, his daily nurses, and the other nurses that filled in who administered their support and care.
Kevin was an inspiration to everyone he met, his strong will to live, his positive attitude and never ever complaining about his condition, and his beautiful blue eyes. He will forever be missed, but never forgotten.
The funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, 7335 Southside Dr., with cremation to follow. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Joseph E. Ratterman & Son, 7336 Southside Dr.
