O'CONNOR, LARRY, 89, passed away on February 6, 2014 at the Episcopal Church Home, Louisville, KY.
He was born on June 1, 1924 in Brooklyn, NY. He was a retired financial analyst for the General Electric Company where he worked for 40 years.
Larry was a 1948 graduate of the University of Notre Dame and also served as a naval officer during World War II. He was also a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
Preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Gladys O'Connor; as well as his wives, Winifred O'Connor and Lorna O'Connor.
Survived by his sister, Alice McManus; his daughter, Peggy McCarty (Tom); son, Jim O'Connor (Barbara); five grandchildren, Kevin McCarty (Beth), Michael McCarty, Lauren O'Connor, Katie McCarty, and Jennifer O'Connor; and two great-grandchildren Annie and Finn McCarty.
Cremation was chosen, and there will be no local services. He will be entombed in the Cedar Grove Cemetery on the Notre Dame campus.
As he said, "so I can hear the band on Friday night and Saturday morning".
