Born September 18, 1915, Crawford County, IL.

Loren attended the University of Illinois and later obtained his law degree from the University of Louisville in 1943. While at U of L he met his future wife, Jeannette, and the two were married while Loren was attending Naval OCS at Harvard, after which he served on the USS South Dakota through the end of World War II.

After the war Loren joined the Veterans Administration where he worked for 43 years, retiring in 1989. Loren was a life-long fan of Illinois and Louisville football and basketball, and maintained an active interest in managing the family farm in Illinois.

He is survived by his daughter, Lagara Goulait, and her husband Dennis.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsvillle Road. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday with burial at Cave Hill Cemetery.
