Marion McLaurin "Mac" Baker Obituary
BAKER, MARION McLAURIN "MAC," 91, passed away on December 30, 2013.

Mac served his country during World War II as an aerial gunner in the B-24 Liberator bombers in the South Pacific. Mac attended Marshall University in Huntington, WV, where he studied business. He was an active member of Southeast Christian Church for many years serving on the communion committee. Previous to that, he attended Buechel Park Baptist Church for many years. Mac retired from Snap-On Tools Corp. where he was the recipient of multiple awards for salesmanship.

A 32nd degree Mason as well as a Shriner, Mac served as the Director of the SunShriners. He also served Meals on Wheels as a volunteer for many years.

While not serving at church, working, or spending time with his family, Mac could be found on the lake, fishing for hours at a time. Fishing was his favorite recreational activity. He also had a beautiful baritone singing voice, and he enjoyed playing his German harmonica.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Berniece "Bunny" Bertram Baker and parents Susie Vesta Philips Baker and McLaurin Baker of Florence, SC.

Surviving Mac are his children, daughter Becky Breeding (Joe) of Montgomery, AL and son, Richard Baker of Louisville; grandchildren, Susan Robinson (Josh) of Atlanta, GA, Lauren Breeding of Montgomery, AL, Benji Baker (Nicole) of Greenville, SC and Richie Baker of Louisville; great-grandchildren, Kyla, Meira and Amos Robinson of Atlanta and Forest and Willow Baker of Charlotte, NC; great-great-grandson, Tyler Baker of Louisville; a sister, Theressa Frost of Minneapolis, MN.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday and after 10 a.m. Friday at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road. The funeral service will be held at Ratterman's at 11 a.m. Friday, followed by burial at Resthaven.
