CLOSE, NORMA JEAN, 87, of Louisville, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014.

Born in Louisville, Norma was a loving Christian woman and a Funeral Director at Miller & Close Funeral Home. She was a member of the Eastern Star, a long-time Sunday school teacher at Farmdale Baptist Church and a former director of WMU.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Leo Close.

Norma is survived by her son, James L. Close II (Darlene); daughter, Sherry Deatrick (Kirby); sister, JoAnn Headley (James); grandchildren, Chris Deatrick, Dawn Ousley (Derrick), and Gabe Close (Blair); and great-grandchildren, Walker, Ryan and Katie.

Her funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Farmdale Baptist Church, 1238 Durrett Lane, with burial to follow in Hebron Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, and 9-10 a.m. Friday at church.

The family wishes to thank the staff and residents at Treyton Oak Towers for their loving care and friendship.
