THOMPSON, QUEEN ESTER (McGEE) 66, a Bowling Green, KY, resident formerly of Stringtown, OK.
She was born on Wednesday, August 6, 1947, to Earl and Mary Ann (Kemp) McGee in Atoka, OK. Queen passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Bowling Green.
She attended school at Lime Stone Gap and Stringtown Public Schools. Queen enjoyed playing basketball and while at Stringtown High she and her class mates had a 15-0 basketball season.
Queen worked hard and supported her family by working as a secretary for 15 years and driving a bus for Transit Authority of River City, Louisville, KY, until her retirement. Queen proudly served her country in The Air Force during the Vietnam War. Queen Ester, as her name sake, was a very caring and giving, especially to those in her neighborhood, she was always lending helping hands to friends and family. Queen Ester loved spending time with her grandchildren; she always loved talking and bragging to others about them.
Survived by mother, Mary Ann (Kemp) McGee of Stringtown, OK; son, Ronnie Thompson Jr. of Indiana; daughter, Kwan Thompson and husband Roy of Bowling Green, KY; grandchildren, Bryce, Nia, Roy Jr., Jazzmin and Eric; siblings, Kenneth McGee of Stringtown, OK, Edward McGee and wife Pat of Stringtown, OK, Todd McGee of Stringtown, OK, Wilma McGee of Stringtown, OK, Lewis McGee and wife Diane of Atoka, OK, Wallace McGee and wife Janice of Atoka, OK, Phillip McGee of Atoka, OK, Steve McGee of Atoka, OK, Winston McGee of Atoka, OK, Marvin Eugene McGee and wife Barbara of Antlers, OK; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Preceded in death by father, Earl McGee; brothers, Timothy "Wayne" McGee, Rona d McGee, Dennis Lee McGee infant brother.
Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Brown's Funeral Chapel, Atoka, OK, with Rev. Anthony Washington officiating. Interment in Wells Street Cemetery, Stringtown, OK. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Casketbearers are nephews; Honorary Casketbearers are brothers; flower girls are nieces, Honorary flower girls are sister and sister-in-laws.
