QUICK, RICHARD CLYDE "POP," 75, passed away in his Louisville home on September 13, 2013, attended by his son and daughter-in-law.

Pop was born February 26, 1938, in Danville, PA, and graduated from Danville High School. He proudly served his country for 20 years in the U.S. Army, 11th Armored Cavalry's Blackhorse Regiment, with a tour of duty in Vietnam, where he received the Purple Heart. He was also stationed in Bamberg, Germany. He retired from the Army at Fort Knox, KY. He then attended Jefferson Community College in Louisville, earning his associate's degree in advertising. He began a second career working as the advertising manager for Allied Sporting Goods in Louisville, where he retired after 20 years. His third and final career was patriarch of the Quick family, serving his family as a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer "Bill" Quick, Tonawanda, NY; his mother, Blanche Bower Quick, Danville; and brother, Ray Quick, Sunbury, PA.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Dorothea Lechner Quick, Iphofen, Germany; his son, Richard E. Quick, Louisville; daughter-in-law, Sandra Hill Quick, Georgetown, KY; grandsons, Richard A. Quick and Brennon L. Quick, Louisville; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Eva Quick, Millville, PA and Ken and Bev Quick, Columbus, IN.
Visitation will be Monday, September 16, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to noon at Newcomer Funeral Home, 10304 Dixie Hwy., Louisville. The funeral service will be Tuesday at noon, at Newcomer Funeral Home on Dixie Highway, with military burial at 2 p.m. at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, 2501 N. Dixie Blvd., Radcliff, KY.
