HADDY, RICHARD I., M.D., 63, formerly of Rochester, MN, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2013.

Dr. Haddy lived in Prospect, KY, and recently retired from the University of Louisville as a Professor and Physician of Family Medicine. His career as a physician, researcher, and teacher spanned more than 30 years. He received his bachelor's degree from St. Olaf College in Minnesota and went on to medical school at Michigan State University, followed by a fellowship in infectious diseases.

He was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed a long and distinguished career in medicine, with numerous grants and publications. He loved his family, music, history, writing, and making others laugh.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl; children Kari, Jennifer, Michael, and Sarah; parents, Drs. Francis and Theresa Haddy; and sisters, Carol Froelich and Dr. Alice Haddy.

A celebration of life Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, where he was a loving member, 1395 Girard Dr. Visitation will be 12-8 p.m. on Friday at Arch L. Heady and Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Burial will take place next week at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Flint, MI.
