KING, RICHARD LEE, 72, passed away April 23, 2014, at Baptist Healthcare surrounded by family and close friends.
He was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Richard was a retired Louisville Police officer and a member of the 1959 Manual High School Championship Football Team. He was an avid U of K fan and enjoyed camping and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mable King, and a brother Paul Eugene King.
He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Judy; brother, John (Betty Jo); son, Richard Donald; daughters, Karen Keuhn, Debra Huff (Buck) and Kristy Cooke; stepchildren, Bobby Prestgiacomo and Shannon Brooks (Kelly), Richard was the loving guardian and father figure to Ryan Prestigiacomo his grandson, grandchildren, Kelley, Nicole, Justin, Darby, Madison, Hunter, Matthew, Slate and Addison. Richard was known by many and loved by all.
Richard's wishes were cremation and no formal funeral services to be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. As we all know Richard did it his way.
