NICHOLS, ROY N., passed away December 19, 2013 at 84 years of age. He was born November 1, 1929 and educated in Somerville, MA. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Nichols.
He was a Navy Veteran, traveling the world for nine years as a machinist. He was a Mason for many years retiring to Pinellas County, Florida in 1971. He was instrumental in fund raising for Shriner's Hospital in Tampa, FL. Roy was interested in education, with a love for reading, tutoring history at Seminole and St. Petersburg High Schools, identifying scholarships for underprivileged students, and even riding the school bus.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Nyland Nichols; two stepsons, John Nyland and Jim Nyland; three granddaughters; and goddaughter, Jacqueline Sofer.
