POWELL, TODD ALLEN, 46, of Louisville, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013, at Baptist Health Louisville.

He was born in Mishawaka, IN. He was a 1985 graduate of Ballard High School and a 1989 graduate of Vanderbilt University where he was a recipient of a R.O.T.C. fellowship. He was a founding member of the Beta Theta Phi Fraternity at Vanderbilt University. He served four years in the U.S. Army ultimately as a first lieutenant during Desert Storm.

Todd was a very kind person and possessed a truly generous heart and spirit. He was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle and great uncle. He had many passions in including reading, music, soccer, fishing, and above all else his family and God. He was a connoisseur of fine dining and great company over a cup of coffee. He met life's most adverse of challenges with an endless noble spirit and a masterful sense of humor. In Todd's own words, he was "always, always being cool." Todd leaves behind his son, Alex Powell; parents, Robert and Boots Powell; sisters, Rachelle Birdsell, Terri Kaufman (Dave) and Susan Maignaud (Steve); brothers, Kent Powell (Carole) and Brian Powell, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends and his beloved dog, Debbie.

A service to celebrate Todd's life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Crestwood United Methodist Church, 7214 Kavanaugh Road, Crestwood, KY. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Floydsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. at CUMC Chapel, prior to the funeral service.
