Walter Earl Heucke Obituary
HEUCKE, WALTER EARL, May 12, 1921- April 26, 2012 and resident of Sunnyvale, CA passed away peacefully in the company of his loving wife Jan Heucke.

He was 90 and passed away due to lung cancer. He was preceded in death by his son, Rodney Heucke and his first wife, Jayne Heucke.

He is survived by his children, Janna Cusick (Hayley), Jerry Heucke, Mark Heucke (Deb, Tyler, Kinsey) and Cheryl Fairfax; as well as his sisters, Carol Ott and Melba Russ.

Walter grew up in Louisville, where he attended duPont Manual High School. He played football for the school and was a member of the team when they won the 1938 State and National Football Championship. After graduation he attended Eastern Kentucky University and was a member of the ROTC. In 1943 he was trained as an Air Observation Pilot and saw service in the European Theatre where he received the purple heart and air medal. After an Honorable Discharge from the US Army he completed his college education and joined the FBI and served his country for another 10 years as a Special Agent. He had a fondness for reading and travel, visiting New Zealand, Africa and Alaska.

A memorial service was held at Los Altos United Methodist Church on April 28, 2012, attended by his wife and family and friends. He will be missed and remembered by all.
