SMITH, WILLIAM A. "BILL," 89, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014.
Born in Jeffersonville, IN, to the late Ernest J. and Martha Jennings Smith, Bill was a retired insurance agent for State Farm Insurance, a founding and long time member of St. Matthews Baptist Church and a U.S. Coast Guard veteran.
Preceding him in death, other than his parents, were his wife, Jane Barnes Smith; and a son, Billy Smith.
Survivors include his daughter, Paula S. Kiser and her husband, Mark; granddaughters, Kimberly Brumbaugh and her husband, Derick; Jennifer Simpson and her husband Brian; Lauren Green and her husband, Adam; great-grandchildren, William Simpson, Landon Kiser, Griffin Simpson, Emma Jane Simpson, Kynlee Green, Ethan Brumbaugh and Evan Brumbaugh.
A funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at St. Matthews Baptist Church, 3515 Grandview Avenue, where visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Ratterman & Sons Bardstown Road entrusted with arrangements.
