ANDERSON, WILLIAM CLAY, 84, of Louisville, passed away November 14, 2013 at the Eastern Star Home of Kentucky.

Bill, the son of William Silas and Ida Mae Anderson was born at St. Joseph Hospital in Louisville and grew up in Stanford, KY. He was a graduate of Stanford High School and Eastern Kentucky University, a member of Beargrass Christian Church, the Thruston Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution and a Kentucky Colonel. He also served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

Bill had taught school at Stanford High School, Valley High School, and Fern Creek High School. Besides teaching he also loved coaching football and cross country while at Valley and Fern Creek.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ellis Gregory Anderson; and his sister, Jackie Anderson Traylor.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Jean Rae Neal; his son, Ellis Nash Anderson (Theresa); his daughter, Sarah Ann Anderson (John Webb); his devoted granddaughter, Holly Jean; his grandson, Mason William Anderson; and their beloved dog, Dot.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane with burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation 1-5 p.m. Sunday at Pearson's.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Eastern Star Home of Kentucky or the Library at Beargrass Christian Church.
