NICHOLS, WILLIAM FORST, 89, of Louisville, passed away Monday, October 14, 2013.

William was born in Louisville, son of the late Mary Elizabeth and Shirley Nichols and was raised by an aunt and uncle, Louise and Will Corrigan. William was a 1942 graduate of Male High School, attended the University of Illinois and graduated from the University of Louisville. He worked at the U.S. Naval Ordnance Plant in Louisville, head of Industrial Engineering Dept, was retired vice-president for Conco, Inc. of Mendota, IL, and was general manager at Conco Louisville Plant until his retirement after 25 years of service. He was an Army Veteran of World War II, serving in France and Germany with the 4th Infantry (Ivy) Division.

He was the past President of Outriders Society, Kentucky Derby Museum with 2000 + volunteer Hours, member of the Knights of Columbus, Bishop Spalding Council, and a member of Audubon Country Club.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Nichols Holliger.

He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Ann Rusch Nichols; daughter, Mary Anne Eifler (John); son, John T. Nichols DMD, (Debbie); grandchildren, John B. Eifler, Jr. M.D. (Laura) Nashville, TN, Katherine M. Nichols M.D., Elizabeth Eifler, Washington, D.C., Margaret Cotter (Nick) Chicago, IL. Anne Eifler, R.N. Baltimore, MD, William J. Nichols, Cincinnati, OH; and great-grandchildren, John (Jack) Eifler, Nashville, TN, and Emma Eifler, Nashville, TN.

His Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday, Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 501 Cherrywood Road with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, "in St. Matthews".
