73, of Jeffersontown, KY, went to be with the Lord on September 28, 2015.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Ola Jeane of 51 years; his daughter, Dedra Jeane; stepmother, Dorothy Jones; sister, Carolyn Sego; brothers, Jerry Jones, Joe Jr. and Lisa, David and Wife Cecelia; his Aunt Shirley "Red" and Uncle Donnie Huckleberry; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends who are considered family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph A. Jones, Sr.; mother, Anna Dora; and sister, Ruth Anna Manley.

He was Catholic by faith and was a member of St. Edward Parish. He owned Carrithers Ambulance Service and retired from Shelby County and Eminence Police Departments, Shelby County Emergency Medical Services, and Jeffersontown Fire Department. He also served his country by serving in the Army.

Gary was Past Master of Jeffersontown Masonic Lodge #774 and a member of Fraternal Order of Police Shelby Metro Lodge #51.

Gary lived life to the fullest and enjoyed hunting and fishing, NASCAR, CB and Ham Radios, tinkering in his garage and was a gun enthusiast. He loved his grand-dogs Harley and Outlaw. He also spent his mornings eating his biscuits and gravy surrounded by his friends, "The Liars Club" at Hardees. He most of all was a University of Kentucky Wildcats fan and was not to be disturbed during his basketball games.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2, 2015 from 2-8 p.m. at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 10600 Taylorsville Road in Jeffersontown, KY, 40299. The funeral will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the same location with burial (graveside service) following at Hopewell Cemetery, 4305 Old Hopewell Road in Jeffersontown.
