Chester H. Davis of Chelmsford, Air Force Vet; 92 -- CHELMSFORD -- Chester Harding Davis, 92, a resident of Chelmsford since 1968, passed peacefully in his sleep on June 24, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Emily Rose (Gilders) Davis to whom he had been married for 68 years prior to her death on June 18, 2012. He was born in Framingham on November 27, 1920, and was the son of the late Hobart M. and Ella (Nichols) Davis. Chester was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a photographer for the U.S. Air Force, Raytheon, and Fotobeam. Chester and Emily met during World War II and were married in England. He was a member of the Chelmsford Elks and a frequent volunteer at the V.A. in Bedford. His favorite pastime, however, was spending time with his loving family. Chester is survived by his children, Sandra R. Klopfer and her husband, Albert L. of Coventry, CT, Linda Davis of Chelmsford, and Paul C. W. Davis and his wife, Amelia of Chelmsford; six grandchildren, Albert, Andrew, and Michael Klopfer, Hilary Klopfer Burns, and Andrew, and Spenser Davis, as well as eight great-grandchildren.
