Daniel D. Dozois
loving husband, father
TEWKSBURY, MA -- Daniel D. Dozois, 68, loving husband of Sharon J. (Paczosa) Dozois, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, November 10, 2013, with his loving family by his side.
Born in Lowell on January 22, 1945, he was a son of the late Henry A. and Claire (Ricard) Dozois.
Dan was a graduate of Dracut High School and received a B.A. from Nathaniel Hawthorne College in Antrim, NH.
He served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War receiving the Vietnam Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
Prior to his retirement he was employed as a computer analyst for Honeywell of Newton, MA for many years and M.I.T. in Cambridge from which he retired.
Dan was a member of the Lawrence Lodge of Elks, #65 and the DAV, MA Chapter 110.
An avid sports fan, Dan enjoyed watching the Patriots and Red Sox. He also enjoyed bowling, pool, archery, playing poker, outside grilling and riding in his "big truck."
He liked to travel to Sebago Lake, ME, Hampton Beach, NH and going on ocean cruises with his wife Sharon.
Mostly he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and sitting out on his deck at home.
A family man, he will be remembered as a kind, generous, thoughtful person with a good sense of humor.
In addition to his wife he leaves his daughter, Julie Dupuis and her husband Jerry of Salem, NH; his son, Daniel D. Dozois, Jr. and his wife Sara of Manchester, NH; three grandchildren, Arianna, Daniel and Abby; a sister, Eileen Agrella of Dracut; two brothers, Henry Dozois and his wife Elaine of Lowell and Richard Dozois and his wife Lois of Inverness, FL; two sisters-in-law, Carol Paczosa and her companion Dennis Michaud of Londonderry, NH and Karen Paczosa of Nashua, NH. He also leaves several special friends, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
DOZOIS -- Relatives and friends are invited to his Life Celebration on Friday morning from 9 to 11:30 AM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street. Funeral Services will immediately follow in the Funeral Home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to:
