Eleanor Shea Egan Retired Lowell School Teacher -- LOWELL -- Eleanor Shea Egan, 74, of Lowell, died Monday, June 24, 2013, at Lowell General Hospital, after a long illness. Born in Littleton, NH, she was the daughter of the late James and Dorothy Egan. She graduated Lowell High School with the class of 1955. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Lowell State Teachers College in 1959 and earned her Master's Degree in Education from Northeastern University in 1968. Eleanor taught reading in the Chelmsford and Lowell School Systems for many years before retiring in 1996. Eleanor is survived by three brothers, Barry Egan and his wife, Patricia of Chelmsford, MA, Andrew Egan of Kingston, RI, and Brian Egan of Lowell, MA; four nephews, Sean Egan of Chelmsford, MA, Jeff Egan of Morrisville, VT, Jon Egan of Kingston, RI, and Cory Egan of Kingston, RI. She also leaves behind her childhood friend and professional colleague, Deanna Twarog of Lowell, MA, EGAN -- Eleanor Shea Egan, of Lowell, MA, died June 24, 2013. Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Margaret's Church, 374 Stevens Street, Lowell, MA on Friday for her Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell, MA.
