Francis B. "Buck" Buckley (93) died Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Mary Immaculate Nursing and Restorative Center surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Ann Dumond Buckley.
Born September 8, 1919 in Lowell, Massachusetts to John William and Rose (Cunnion) Buckley.
He was educated in Lowell schools and served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Coast Artillery where he was stationed in the Aleutian Islands. He was employed for many years at DeMoulas Market Baskets as a supervisor.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Parish; life member of Lowell Elks Lodge No. 87. He had a lifelong passion for golf, caddying in the Lowell area in his youth and golfing until his late 80's.
Surviving him are his daughter, Patricia Gallant and her husband Cliff of Dracut and his son, F. Michael Buckley and his wife Priscille of Methuen; four (4) grandchildren, Kelly Saulnier, Kimberly Buckley, Kevin Gallant and Patrick Buckley; two (2) sisters, Rose Grenier and Barbara Agrella both of Dracut, son-in-law, Walter Amigo of North Andover and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 34 years, Ann (Dumond) Buckley, his daughter, Maureen Buckley Amigo, three brothers John William, George (twin), and Edward Buckley and two sisters infant Mary Buckley and Helen Toy.
The family would like to thank the staff at Mary Immaculate for their kind and loving care during his last few years.
BUCKLEY -- Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Mary Immaculate Nursing and Restorative Center.
Friends and relatives are invited to call on Sunday, August 25th, from 2-5pm at the Arthur J. Scott Funeral Home, 298 South Broadway, Lawrence. A Funeral Mass will be held the following day, Monday, August 26, at 11am at St. Patrick Parish, 118 South Broadway, Lawrence. Burial will be at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
