SPRING HILL, Florida -- Francis E. Coughlin, of Spring Hill, Florida, died March 27, 2014, peacefully at home after a brief illness. He was 87.

Frank was a longtime employee of the Lowell Gas Company, where he was president of the local union, prior to moving to Florida in 1986.

Frank enjoyed sports and was an avid salt water fisherman. He loved the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, and his adopted NFL team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

He is survived by his former wife, Rita Coughlin and their children, Lois Bradbury of Dracut, Dotti Bellemare of Dracut, Judy Coughlin of Dracut, Lee Coughlin of Amesbury, Fran Coughlin of Mattapoisett, and Dan Coughlin of Los Angeles, CA; as well as 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Private services will be held in June on Plum Island, one of his favorite fishing spots.
