George C. Gillette Formerly of Chelmsford, MA, WWll Vet; 88 -- DERRY, NH -- George C. Gillette, passed away on July 6, 2013, at his daughter's home in Dunstable, MA. He was born in Everett, MA on October 26, 1924 and was married for 54 years to Grace M. (Meister) Gillette who died in 2006. He grew up in Chelsea, MA and was the son of George and Edith "Blanche" Gillette. He lived most of his life in Portland, ME, Chelmsford, MA, and Spring Hill, FL, and most recently in Derry, NH. He was a graduate of Chelsea High School and Fisher Junior College, and was extremely proud of his service in the US Army Air Corps during World War II, flying several sorties over southern Europe as a B-24 gunner. He was employed for over 40 years with Kohler Company as a zone manager until his retirement in 1988. He is survived by his son, Greg Gillette and his wife, Kristi of Brookline, NH; his daughter, Gretchen Martorano and her husband, Jay of Dunstable, MA; and his beloved granddaughters, Taylor Gillette, Rachel Gillette and Julia Martorano. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Christmas of Miami, FL; his brothers-in-law, William Mugford of Chelsea, MA, and Don Mugford of Chelmsford, MA; several nieces and nephews; and his good friends, Bob Hedrick & family of Orlando, FL. He was predeceased by his sisters, Edith Poloian, Phyllis Mugford, and Janice Mugford. GILLETTE -- Funeral arrangements by Dolan Funeral Home 106 Middlesex St. Chelmsford, 978-251-4041, are private.
