Gerald E. Regan
Age 85; A life-long resident of Lowell

LOWELL -- Gerald E. Regan, 85, a life-long resident of Lowell, and summered in Seabrook, NH, died Saturday morning, September 28, 2013, at the Oceanside Nursing Home in Hampton, NH, after a long illness.

He was married to the late Mary (McNamara) Regan who died on November 27, 2004.

Gerald was the son of the late John and Lillian Regan. He was a graduate of Lowell High School's class of 1947.

He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Gerald retired from Sullivan Brothers Printers of Lowell, MA in 1993, and previously worked at Courier Citizen, also of Lowell.

In addition, he was a communicant of St. Margaret Church of Lowell, MA.

He was also a member of Mt. Pleasant Golf Club of Lowell, where he played 45's on Monday afternoons, and was a member of the East End Club of Lowell.

Gerald was an avid New England Sports fan, and was a 34-year season ticket holder for the UMass Lowell River Hawk hockey team.

Gerald is survived by a daughter and her husband, Paula and Christopher Hartman of N. Hampton, NH; three sisters and their husbands, Eileen and Arthur Adie of Lowell, MA, Lorraine and Henry Antonelli of Hudson, NH, and Jeanne and Thomas Meehan of Lowell; and three sisters-in-law, Dorothy and her husband, Ken Clark of Seabrook Beach, NH, Peggy McNamara of Lowell, and Patricia and Benny Bernard of Dracut.

Gerald is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as several close friends.

He was the father of twin boys, the late Michael and Mark Regan of Lowell who both died at the age of 13 in 1977. Gerald was the brother of the late Raymond Regan of Dracut, MA who died October 10, 2004.

REGAN -- Gerald E. Regan, 85, of Lowell and Seabrook, NH, died Sept. 28, 2013. Visiting hours Wed. 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral Thurs. at 8:30 A.M. from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST., CHELMSFORD, with a funeral at 9:30 A.M. at St. Margaret Church in Lowell.
