DRACUT -- John B. Casserly, 91, died peacefully, Monday evening, March 3, 2014 at Palm Center Nursing Home in Chelmsford. He was the husband of Marie V. (Robertson) with whom he shared 63 years of marriage.
John was born in North Andover on January 3, 1923. He was the son of the late Bernard J. Casserly and Mary Anne (Shanley) Casserly.
He received his education through the North Andover school system and was a graduate of Johnson High School, also in North Andover. He then continued on to received his bachelors degree from Boston College.
John proudly served his country during W.W.II as part of the United States Navy until he was honorably discharged in 1946.
John was a life long Red Sox fan and enjoyed spending time with his family and golfing. He was also a communicant of St. Theresa's Parish in South Attleboro, MA for 45 years.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his two children, Dr. Brian J. Casserly and his wife Celaine of Winchester and William P. Casserly and his wife Lynn of Kensington, NH; his six grandchildren, John Casserly and his wife Michelle, Michael Casserly and his wife Elizabeth, and David, Peter, Thomas, and Christopher Casserly.
John was predeceased by his son John G. Casserly.
CASSERLY -- At the request of John's family, calling hours will be held privately. Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass on FRIDAY, March 7th at 10 AM in St. Michael Church, Lowell.
