SPRINGFIELD/Formerly of ACTON, MA -- Kenneth A. Morehouse, 47, of Springfield, MA, formerly of Acton, MA, died unexpectedly Thurs., April 11th, 2014, at the Houston Methodist Hospital in Texas.

Born in Concord, he was the son of the late Charles P. and Gertrude M. (Hartman) Morehouse. Ken graduated from Acton-Boxborough Regional High School in 1984 and attended Middlesex Community College to study fire science. A career firefighter, he worked for several departments in MA. He was also a licensed electrician and worked with his brother, William, at MacLeod Electric. He was most recently employed by Leslie's Pool Supply.

Ken was a Sergeant in the Acton Minutemen and was involved with their events for many years. He was also a NASCAR fan and traveled to races in Daytona, Bristol and Las Vegas.

He is survived by two brothers, William C. Morehouse and wife, Heather of Littleton, MA. and Scott J. Morehouse and wife, Heather of Braunfels, TX. He was the uncle and godfather of Ashley and Tyler Morehouse, and uncle of Charlie Morehouse. Ken is also survived by his fiancée, Renee Prinz of Springfield.

MOREHOUSE -- Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours Wed., April 16th from 4-8 pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave. (Rte. 111), Acton. The funeral service will be held Thurs., April 17th at 10 am in the South Acton Congregational Church, 35 School St., Acton, with burial following in Woodlawn Cemetery, Concord Rd., Acton Ctr.
