Kenneth A. Trombly
formerly of Lowell, MA

Kenneth A. Trombly died on August 13, 2013 after a courageous battle with scleroderma. Born on August 5, 1947 in Lowell, MA, he was the son of the late Howard T. Trombly and Adeline (Daniels) Carlton. All who knew him found his passionate, fun-loving spirit and his kind, compassionate soul endearing.

Kenny was a husband, a father, a brother and a friend. He was a war hero. Kenny lived life with a strong heart, and he always found adventure right outside his doorstep. Countless stories could be told about the playful mischief Kenny would get into with his friends. Most will remember his nickname, Kenchik, and his "Kenny-ism" phrases. All will remember his heart-winning smile.

Kenny's enthusiasm for life was evident in all of his activities. An avid fisherman, he especially enjoyed fishing from his boat on the Concord River with his family and friends. Kenny absolutely loved music- loved to crank up those tunes and sing and dance. He loved watching professional sports of any kind. He loved playing competitive games such as golf, bowling and horseshoes. And, the place to be was at Kenny's on the nights he hosted card or dart games.

A very generous man, Kenny truly loved to share everything he had with his family and friends. He loved to cook for others, and he took great pleasure in hosting many well-attended cookouts and meals at his home.

Having served in the Vietnam War, Kenny received two Purple Hearts. A proud American who felt honored to serve his country, Kenny was a true patriot, and he donated generously to all veteran-related charities.

Kenny will be remembered for his love of his family and friends. In addition to his beloved wife, Mary, he is survived by his daughter Niki Svara of Los Angeles, CA; his son Daniel J. Trombly and his wife Melanie of Worcester, MA; two precious grandchildren, Maddie and Sam; his brother David Trombly and his wife Sherrin of Lowell, MA; his sister Mariann Curtis and her husband David of Beavercreek, OH; his sister Barbara Berger and her husband Lon of North Hollywood, CA; his sister-in-law Gail Trombly of Nashua, NH; many nieces and nephews, and his lifelong friend, Tommy Price. Ken was predeceased by siblings Gary, Janice, Maureen, Gloria and Tommy. Along with his family, Kenny will be missed by many loving friends whose unwavering support and love meant so much to him.

With a heart of gold and music in his soul, Kenny was a "one of a kind" kind of guy. He had that "something special" that drew people to him. Throughout his life and even through to his last breath, he had people who loved him surrounding him. He will most definitely be missed, and he will never ever be forgotten. Kenny's huge spirit will be with us forever.

TROMBLY -- Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 1:00pm at the VA Chapel, 200 Springs Road, Building 81, Bedford, MA 01730.

The family would like to thank the staff in building 78C at the Veterans Hospital in Bedford, Massachusetts for their outstanding care. Their compassion and guidance throughout this difficult time was greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kenny's name to: Department of Veterans Affairs, Memorial Veterans Hospital, 200 Springs Road, Bedford, MA 01730, Attn: Valerie Briere 78C.
