Loving sister to Elaine Gedrich, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, great-great-aunt

DRACUT -- Marsha A. Duffy, age 71, died peacefully at the Northwood Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Lowell, MA, with her loving family by her side.

Marsha was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 23, 1942, daughter of the late Barbara A. (Murphy) and James Duffy. She grew up in Brooklyn, NY and then moved to South Boston, MA, where she attended Cardinal Cushing Central High School.

After graduation, she began a 35 year career with Bank of New England in Boston, later retiring from the loan department located in the Schrafft's building in Charleston, MA. She was a longtime resident of Derry, NH prior to moving to Lake Whales, Florida.

She was an independent women with an amazing sense of adventure, who loved the peacefulness the ocean would bring and spent much time at the beach in her younger days. In her later years, she fulfilled a lifelong dream of moving to Florida to work at Walt Disney World. At the age of 61, she packed up her life and moved to Florida where she was employed at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park for 4 wonderful years.

She is survived by her sister, Elaine M. (Duffy) Gedrich and her husband, Kevin J. of Dracut, MA; her nieces and nephews, Thomas M. Gedrich of Dracut, Mark A. Gedrich of Beverly, and Cheryl A. (Gedrich) Gray and her husband, William J. Jr of Dracut; her great-nieces and nephews, Kara L. and Kali R. Zimmerman of Lowell, Christina L., Lauryn K., and Ryan M. Gray of Dracut, her great-great-nephews Jeremiah J., and Isaiah M. Laboy; as well as many other friends and family members.

The family would like to sincerely thank all the Nurses and CNA's from the B-wing Northwood Rehabilitation & Nursing Home. Their love, gentleness and devotion to my sister, Marsha will never be forgotten. Between their singing and dancing in the halls and the dining room parties; they always went above and beyond to provide compassion to their patients as well as their families.

DUFFY -- Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut, MA on, Tuesday, January 28, 2014 from 4:00 PM until 7:30 PM. Her funeral will be held from the Dracut Funeral Home on, Wednesday, January 29 at 8:00 AM followed by a mass at 9:00 AM at Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish, at 1340 Lakeview Ave. in Dracut.
