Mugardish S. 'Sonny' Kazanjian
Loving husband, father, and grandfather;
U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War

LOWELL -- Mugardish S. "Sonny" Kazanjian, of Lowell, MA, and Palm Beach Gardens, FL, died February 28, 2013, after a lengthy illness, his loving family by his side.

He was the beloved husband of Marguerite A. "Margie" (Yeranosian) Kazanjian, with whom he celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary last November.

Born in Lowell, February 15, 1932, a son of the late John S. and Helen (Marderosian) Kazanjian. He received his early education at the Moody School, and was a graduate of Lowell High School with the Class of 1950.

Sonny enlisted in the U.S. Army on June 30, 1952. He was a Corporal with the Transportation Army Reserve Ordinance Company until his honorable discharge on June 10, 1954, at Camp Kilmer, NJ. He received the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, the United Nations Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.

Along with his family, Sonny opened Kazanjian's Garage, on Dutton Street, in 1951, where they proudly served the local community for over 60 years.

Mr. Kazanjian was very active in the community, both here and in Florida. He was a member of the Lowell Elks and the American Legion Post in Palm Beach Gardens. Sonny was an avid golfer and a member of the North Palm Beach Country Club.

Sonny always enjoyed a good round of golf with close friends. Most of all, he treasured time spent with his entire family, whether vacationing on Cape Cod or at family gatherings. He had a great sense of humor and an infectious personality that brought out the best in everyone he met. Sonny was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He was respectful toward others and was greatly respected in return. The family would like to thank his exceptional caregivers who provided such great care and support during his illness.

Sonny was one in a million -- a kind, generous and selfless man who will always be remembered for his incredible work ethic, dedication to the community, and devotion to his family, especially his beloved wife, Margie.
