BEVERLY -- Paul H. Langlais, 88, died Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Essex Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, he was surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Theresa M. (May) Langlais.
Paul was born in Lowell on March 15, 1926. He was the son of the late George H. Langlais and Irene (Pedneault) Langlais.
He received his education at St. Joseph Grammar School and was also a graduate of Lowell High School. He proudly served his country during W.W.II, when he enlisted in the United States Navy, and served aboard the USS Missouri in the signal corp. He witnessed the signing of Japan's surrender aboard the Missouri. He was a dedicated and proud veteran.
Prior to his retirement, Paul was employed as a printer at Courier Citizen, formerly Murray Printing, in Westford, MA.
In his free time, Paul enjoyed painting and was a very talented artist and signed all paintings as Paul Henri.
He was a loving and sweet man with a warm smile and held a particular sparkle in his eyes for everyone he met. But above all, he loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two children, Donna Marie Langlais of White River Junction, VT; Kathryn Ann LaMay-Miller and her husband, Gary of Northampton, MA; his brother, Roger Langlais and his wife, Joyce of St. Joseph, MI; his three grandchildren, Kerri Ann Nelson and her husband, Kevin Legace of Beverly; Scott P. Nelson and his wife, Wendy of Minnesota; Shawn T. Nelson and his companion, Amber Sharon of Orford, NH; his six great-grandchildren, Cory, Jamie, Jack, Ally, Lilly, and Alyvia; as well as many nieces and nephews and his "adopted daughters", Connie and Bonnie.
Paul is predeceased by his siblings, Teresa, Mina, and George Langlais.
LANGLAIS -- Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut on WEDNESDAY, April 30th from 9-10:30 a.m. His Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. in St. Rita's Parish, Lowell.
