of Pelham; 83

PELHAM -- Richard J. Comtois, 83, of Pelham, died Monday, August 11th at Mary Immaculate Nursing Home in Lawrence. He was the beloved husband of Lorraine M. (Lepine) Comtois with whom he celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on June 30, 2014.

Born in Dracut, Massachusetts, September 28, 1930, the son of the late Joseph and the late Laura M. (Gauthier) Comtois, he attended Dracut schools and Lowell Trade School and then went on to graduate from Coyne Electrical & Technical School in Boston.

A veteran of the Korean Conflict, Mr. Comtois proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

Before retiring, Richard was employed as a Licensed Electrician with Raytheon Corporation in Andover and Lowell for over 34 years.

An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and snowmobiling. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and a charter member of the 2nd Amendment Task Force.

In addition to his wife Lorraine, Richard is survived by a son Guy R. Comtois and his wife Barbara of Center Barnstead, NH; a daughter Kim Van Horn and her husband David of Danville, CA; five grandchildren Jon-Luc and Travis Comtois of Center Barnstead, NH and Jamie, Joseph and Jack Van Horn of Danville, CA; two sisters-in-law Doris Dastous of Dracut, MA and Joanne Lepine of Andover, MA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also father of the late Gary R. Comtois who died in 1972.

COMTOIS -- In Lawrence, August 11, 2014, at Mary Immaculate Nursing Home, Richard J. Comtois, 83, of Pelham, husband of Lorraine M. (Lepine) Comtois. In keeping in accordance with his wishes, there will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Thursday morning at ST. PATRICK CHURCH in Pelham at 10 o'clock. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment will be private. E-condolences/directions at www.pelhamfuneralhome.com.
