Robert Joseph Major
of Florida, Vietnam Vet; 68

Robert J. Major, formerly of Billerica and Chelmsford, MA, passed away on April 5th, 2014, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Lowell, MA, he was the late son of Arthur and Dorothy Major of Billerica. Bob enlisted with the U.S. Air Force and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War.

Bob was a longtime employee of Seilers Corporation

Bob was previously married to Lorraine Major and together they raised their family in Chelmsford, MA.

Surviving him are his two daughters, Robbin Barrett, her husband, Jay and their daughter, Rielly; Renee Stagnone her husband, Chris and their two children Joey and Isabella. His siblings, Arthur Major, John Major, Dot O'Flaherty, and Barbara Zousimas; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers-in law, Edward O'Flaherty and Chris Zousimas; and one sister-in-law, Margaret Major.

Bob lived in Florida for the past 20 years. He worked for the town of Bradenton before retirement.

He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spending time with his longtime companion, Nancy Cutlip.

There will be a Memorial Mass Friday, July 25, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Theresa's Church in Billerica, MA.

A celebratory luncheon will be followed at the Billerica Elks.
