Robert T. Belanger
of Tyngsboro, U.S. Navy Veteran; 79
TYNGSBORO -- Robert T. Belanger, 79, United States Navy Veteran, 53 year resident of Tyngsboro and formerly of Lowell, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at the West Roxbury VA hospital.
He was the beloved husband of Aileen Belanger who survives him and now resides in Billerica.
He was born on December 29, 1933 in Salem, Massachusetts, son of the late George H. Belanger and Armancia (Degagne) Belanger. He was also brother of the late Roland Belanger and Georgette (Belanger) Tetreault.
He is survived by his son, Arthur Belanger of Tyngsboro; and daughter, Diane (Belanger) Prowker of Eagle River, Alaska.
In addition, he is survived by three brothers, Philip Belanger of Orlando, FL, Armand Belanger of Palmdale, CA, Roger Belanger of Beverly Hills, CA, four sisters, Jeannette Fraser of Washington, NH, Pauline Tilton of Salisbury, MA, Marguerite Galvagna of North Andover, MA, and Lucille Gamache of Lowell, MA. Mr. Belanger is also survived by his grandchildren, Jessica Prowker and Eric Prowker, both of Eagle River of Alaska, and Alexandra Weld of Tyngsboro.
BELANGER -- In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to www.onefundboston.org to benefit the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings. Services are being handled by Robert J. Lawler and Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre Street, West Roxbury, MA. Interment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Massachusetts.
