SUNDERLAND -- Thomas E. "Tom" Healy Jr., formerly of Chelmsford, MA, passed away on August 16, 2014 at the New England Health Center in Sunderland, MA, following a long illness.
Born on August 23, 1927 in Boston, Tom was the son of the late Thomas and Marie (Smith) Healy.
Following high school, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1948.
He graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Public Relations in 1952.
Tom married the love of his life, Terry "T", in 1953. They moved from Somerville to Chelmsford to raise their family and were married for 44 years until her untimely death in 1997.
Tom worked for over 20 years as a manager in industry before finding his true career in real estate. He owned and operated Thomas Healy Real Estate in North Chelmsford for many years and was highly respected by all in the real estate community and known for his integrity and professionalism. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Parish in Chelmsford.
Tom was devoted to his family and his life was centered on his wife and four children. He coached Little League and spent countless hours at hockey rinks. He loved to camp and ski with his family in the White Mountains and vacation in Ogunquit, Maine and Cape Cod. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He leaves his two daughters, Janice and her husband, Geoffrey White of Conway, MA; Joanne and her husband, David Miner of Sunderland, MA; and his two sons, Thomas F. Healy of Lowell, MA, and Paul Healy and his wife, Diane of Leominster, MA. He also leaves his seven cherished grandchildren; Christopher and Andrew White, Meaghan Healy and her husband, Brian Parent, Devinne Healy, Katherine Miner, and Jennifer and Matthew Healy.
Tom is predeceased by his brother, Jack Healy and his sister, Betty. He leaves his brother, Jim Healy and his wife, Sandy of Hollis, New Hampshire.
The family would like to give special thanks to his longtime personal aide, Annette, who lovingly cared for Tom for many years.
HEALY -- Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11 am to 12 pm at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD, followed by a Celebration of Tom's Life at 12 noon in the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
