Longtime resident of Lowell, Army Vet; 75

LOWELL -- Joseph A. Laflamme, age 75, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at Lowell General Hospital after an extended illness. For eighteen years, he was the beloved husband of Esther M. (Fisette) Laflamme.

He was born in Nashua, NH on Oct. 4, 1941, a son of the late Joseph and Irene (Parent) Laflamme. Joe was a longtime resident of Lowell and served in the U.S. Army for six years during the Vietnam War.

He was currently employed at Enterprise Fleet in Burlington for several years. He was previously employed as a mechanical engineer at H & M Metals in Amherst, NH for many years.

He enjoyed playing 45's with his wife and friends, earlier in his life he enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his nephew David, and bowling.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his step-children, Brenda Russell-St. Cyr and her husband, Armand of Nashua, NH, June Vigeant and her husband, Robert of Hudson, NH and Richard Russell and his wife, Gillian of Lowell, MA; seven step grandchildren, Ronnie, Stacy, Alicia, Ryan, Matthew, Katrina and Mason; one step great- granddaughter, Jaelyn; also several nieces and nephews. He was the husband of the late Theresa Laflamme who passed away in 1994, and brother of the late Allen Laflamme.

LAFLAMME -- Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Joseph on Monday, Nov. 7 from 3 to 7 pm at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell. Cremation to follow. A prayer service will take place on Wednesday morning, Nov. 9 at 11 o'clock at the Chapel of St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
