Albert Lee Field SLATON-Services for Albert Field, 90, of Lubbock and formerly of Muleshoe will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Englunds Chapel with burial at Southland's Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. Albert was born on March 6, 1924, in Garza County. He grew up near Southland, graduating from Southland High School in 1941 and from Texas Tech College in 1949. Albert served in the US Navy during WWII in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He was a city manager for the communities of Friona, Muleshoe, Palestine, Dalhart and Morton, retiring in 1989. Albert married Edwina Chambers in Corsicana on Jan. 8, 1949. They moved to Lubbock in 2012. Those who survive him include his wife, Edwina; sons, Terry Field, Randy Field; daughters, Rhonda Roberts and Mary Stegemoeller; siblings, Robert Field, Connie Field, Mack Field, Roy Field, Mary Lou Ritchey, and Bonnie Dooley; along with ten grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials in Albert's name to of Texas, P.O. Box 27170, Austin, TX 78755-2170 or the , TX Affiliate, 2514 82nd Street, Ste B, Lubbock, TX 79423. There will be a family visitation at the funeral home Thursday, April 24 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
