Alfred Eugene Griffin Sr. LUBBOCK-Alfred Eugene Griffin Sr., 81, of Amherst, Texas, passed away on June 22, 2014. Alfred was born on March 17, 1933, to the parentage of Alvie and Ennis (Florence) Griffin in Killeen, Texas. Alfred served in the US Navy from 1952 to 1956. He lived and worked as a Building Maintenance Supervisor in Lubbock and Dallas prior to his retirement. Following retirement, Alfred relocated to Shallowater. Alfred was preceded in death by: his parents, Alvie and Ennis (Florence) Griffin; ten siblings; one daughter, Charlotte Wasson; and one granddaughter, Amanda Carrington. He leaves to cherish his memories: one son, Gene Griffin; a daughter, Donna Devenney; two grandsons, Michael Wasson and Gregory Devenney; a granddaughter, Stefanie Devenney; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Audine Dunlap, Robbie North, Lorraine Creed, James Griffin, and a host of other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank Harmonee House staff and Gentiva Hospice for the wonderful care provided. Celebration of life services will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014, at 3 p.m. in Griffin Mortuary Chapel, under the direction of Griffin Mortuary.
